Jacqueline Garcia Designs

Jacqueline graduated from the College of Textiles at North Carolina State University. She has received a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion and Textile Management, with a concentration in Product Development and Textile Management and a minor in Business Administration. Jacqueline has always enjoyed art, but it was not until her junior year in high school that she realized her artistic skills could be used toward fashion. After touring several colleges, Jacqueline knew NC State was for her, and she has enjoyed being part of the Wolfpack ever since. She has been involved in fashion shows as a designer and a volunteer; she was a designer in the Threads Senior Collection Spring 2014 fashion show. Jacqueline studied abroad at NC State’s Prague Institute in the Czech Republic to study costume design in the spring of 2013. 

Jacqueline began her professional career as an intern at Doré Designs in August of 2015. At the end of her internship she was hired as a seamstress; she interpreted garment construction and sewed women’s ballroom dancing costumes based on design sketches and customer’s measurements. After working as a seamstress for just over a year she was promoted to Production Manager in March of 2017. As Production Manager she determined the materials required and best construction for production of garments based on costume design, then planned and organized production schedules by designating projects to seamstresses according to individual skills, costume design sketches, and delivery requirements.

She began working at Disney in 2018 as a Sewing Specialist 2 and was promoted to a Construction Specialist 2 in 2020. She was involved in a wide range of projects including constructing character costumes from start to finish according to specification sheets and repairing character and show costumes. She has worked with a wide variety of materials such as faux leather, leather, beading, raffia, lycra, padding, and netting.
